Today, I took contact with the McAfee Technical Support (I call from Europe, Belgium). Or do you have another solution to propose ? Is it ok to keep it as it is before installing another security suite ? Or do you recommend to make a final cleaning ? If so, how ? Can I use an older version of MCPR that is not considering the McAfee Security Advisor Metro App as McAfee Family Protection ? Where can I download it ? I've still several McAfee folders remaining on my system and 5 services running. Then, I uninstalled McAfee Security Advisor from the Metro screen by right clicking on the tile and clicking on 'uninstall'.įinally, I tried to launch MCPR but it asked me to enter the Administrator Login that I don't have. I uninstalled both applications using the normal way (add/remove programs) and everything went fine (at least no errors reported during this operation or after reboot).
UNINSTALL MCAFEE INTERNET SECURITY SUITE IN WINDOWS 8.1 PRO
I'm facing the same problem on a new Vaio Pro 13 coming with preinstalled McAfee Internet Security 2013 and Parental Controls. We are investigating on this and will post here if we need further information. The MCPR detects it to be McAFee Family Protection and asks for Administrator Login. The "McAfee Security Advisor Metro App" comes preinstalled with Sony Machines packed with Win 8 Operating System. Did you find a solution further to your post dated Octo:
